Cornish
Correspondence Course
Created by Ray Edwards in 1983, the
Cornish Correspondence Course is designed primarily to help
people who are unable to attend Cornish classes.
There are three KDL courses which
follow the Language Board’s syllabus. The lessons in the 1st
and 2nd/3rd grade courses are
self-contained; consisting of a reading passage, questions and
answers, grammar exercises and at times a composition.
Every fifth lesson is a revision lesson.
Cassettes are available.
The 4th grade course
requires students to work through past 4th grade
language and history (of the language) papers and also a set
text programme.
Students’ work is sent to a KDL
teacher to be marked and returned.
There are KDL teachers/representatives in the UK,
Australia, France, America and the Czech Republic.
To date more than 300 people have
enrolled with KDL and over 30 of these have passed the highest
grade and become Bards of the Gorsedd of Cornwall.
