Publications

The Board’s publishing activities concentrate on technical and academic works, critical and historical literary works, grammars, dictionaries and learning courses.  More general books and readers are the province of the Cornish Language Fellowship – the Kowethas.  The year 2004 will be the centenary of the publication of Henry Jenner’s Handbook of the Cornish Language, the seminal work in the revival of Cornish.  The Board is on course to achieve its objective of having all the traditional Cornish texts in print in an inexpensive format to make them available for the first time to the Cornish people.  They are being published in the original manuscript spelling, a transcription into Kernewek Kemmyn and an English translation.  The Board is supporting practically and financially the Cornish Bible Project to translate and publish the New Testament by 2004 and continue towards a complete Bible in Cornish by 2010.  A brochure listing all the Board’s publications will be sent on request from jori.ansell@virgin.net
