The Lisa Simpson page / An Folenn Lisa Simpson

In honour of Lisa Simpson taking up the Cornish cause and shouting 'rydhsys rag Kernow lemmyn' (Freedom for Cornwall now), Warlinenn is dedicating a page to the yellow-skinned girl from Springfield. This event was on Channel 4 on Christmas Day while the Queen of England spouted on the BBC. Lisa deserves to be given an honoury bardship for her efforts. The episode featured the family on a soundstage recording a special Christmas message for the UK. Lisa's part was brief (but so was the episode), but effective, and in no way at all detrimental to the Cornish cause.

The 'Lisa effect' has meant global coverage for the story about how Cornwall's Celtic culture is reviving and how the people of Cornwall are pushing for their own assembly. The most recent examples of this have been on www.reuters.co.uk, BBC Radio 5-live, ABC Western Australia, and on Channel 4's Richard and Judy Show (see the picture). On the 5th November 2004, Matthew Clarke from the Cornish Language Fellowship was a live guest on the tea-time chatshow.
